    How your donations help…<\/span><\/h2>\n

    After 11 years of community mobilization and donor support, the Pontiac Community Hospital<\/em> finally\u00a0unveiled its first dialysis unit in December 2018, improving the quality of life of more than 20 Pontiac residents who had to travel three times a week to Gatineau or Ontario for dialysis treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Did you know that most of the money collected for the Pontiac Hospital’s new dialysis unit came from events organized by the Pontiac community? The following news item is on the very first event organized to raise funds for dialysis, even before the official launch of the project<\/a> on October 15, 2007.<\/p>\n

    Hundreds of community fundraising events have since been organized for the dialysis project, raising most of the final $659,000 fund. It is in no small part because of this extraordinary community engagement that the dialysis centre saw the light of day in December of 2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
